Matt smiled as she kissed him. “I do. I’m an honest lawyer, Evie” Matt laughed and returned his hand to her leg. Matt was a tease and was slowly reaching farther and farther up her leg with each stroke.

Evelyn shivered, growling softly, “Matt.. If ya keep that up.. We may end up staying at ya damn place..” She took a breath, trying to calm herself. Taking a bite of pancake, she looked at him, smirking a bit, “Unless that’s what ya we’ah plannin’ .. Then I may just take ya out and tease ya.” 

Matt just smirked and kept raising his hand up to her knee. “Maybe I am…maybe I’m not” He mused. God I love a confident woman.

Matt smiled and nodded. “How about tomorrow I buy chinese take out and come over?” Matt offered with a smile. 

     Felicia lingered in his doorway, her smile widening, “It’s a date.” And with that, she left, closing his apartment door behind her.

Matt bit his lip and leaned back and plopped in his chair. God you slay me, Felicia Hardy. 

The next night Matt goes to the store and buys Orange Chicken, Fried Rice, noodles and veggies, and spring rolls, then heads to Felicia’s with a six pack of Red Oak beer in his other hand. He rings the doorbell and waits.

Her head ducked slightly as she looked down at one of the worse cuts. “Not even close to it,” Nat replied, as casually as could be achieved given their situation. “How the hell do you get yourself in these messes, anyway?” she mused aloud, using the aid kit she carried to clean the wound.

“Oh you know the usual…someone has a vendetta against me and uses my exwife to mess with me, steals my dad’s remains and puts it in my desk…oh and sends a ninja to kill me. Another day in the life of me” Matt told her in a sarcastic tone.

Matt laughed and shook his head, letting her go slowly. “Come on, a certain Avenger is going to buy you a five night stay here” He chuckled.

She became a little nervous when he revealed himself to be an Avenger. After all, it was her first day in the country after being moved here by Fisk’s gang. Soon enough she might be expected to go after the very same person who was helping her out. “An Avenger? And they still make you pay? That’s awful!”

“Its only fair. I’m just like anyone else. I just wear a red get up is all” Matt told her with a smile. He told the clerk to get her a room for five days and gave the man his Avenger’s Card to swipe. He was handed a key and then Matt handed it to Cat. “Here you are. Enjoy your stay” Matt told her with a smile.

Matt held his lover and kissed her head over and over. “shhhhh….its ok….its ok…I’m here. No one will ever harm you…I’m here, my love” Matt cooed lovingly. He was worried, but he had to be strong for her.

Harley snuggled into him. Holding the blanket tightly, then the tears came. “I’m so sorry.” She said once again about the baby girl the just lost. “So, so sorry.”

“No no no…you have nothing to be sorry about” He told her and smiled warmly. “You want something to eat?” Matt asked with a chuckle.

Harley hid her face in his chest and shook her head. “Unless ya got cotton candy or a chocolate covered banana nah.”

Matt held her and smiled as he kissed her lovingly. “Oh I have bananas and chocolate syrup. Maybe I can pour some in a bowl and we can cover up some bananas? I’d do anything for the love of my life”

“I’m a little disappointed you didn’t tell me about this chocolate syrup earlier.” She kissed him a bit. “Sounds good.”

Matt smiled and lifted her lips to his. “Harley…I will always be here to make you happy. I promise. Now…about those sweets” He told her with a growing smile. Matt starts to slowly get out of the bed.

Matt frowned when she left his arms. “You sure you are going to be ok tonight? Alone?….I mean…..I just want you to be happy, Felicia…its all I ever want for you…Please…if you need me call or break in…I won’t ask questions” Matt told her as he kept his hand in her’s before letting it slip out. Peter…I still love her….

     Felicia gave a small nod, the smile evident in her voice, “Yes. I’ll be fine. I’ve been alone and independent for the better half of my life, Matt. I’ll live, trust me.” Before letting her hand fall from his, she gave it a gentle squeeze, “Come visit me sometime, alright?”

Ah yes, I do remember that. I remember that night vividly. [smirks giving him a wink as he cab stops. Jean paid the driver and looked at Matt] And now we are going on a date together as husband and wife. 

[Gets out and loops his arm with her and smiles] You have no idea how happy I am waking up every morning with you in my bed and wearing that ring….I never thought I’d get this chance to have a family…thank you so much.

Matt sat down on the near by couch. “Fine….I’ll take what I can get. Its…Its really good to see you, Natasha…”

She couldn’t help the small smile that crept onto her face at the man’s words. With a sigh, she moved to kneel beside the couch…

Nat kept her exploration of the man’s chest and injuries purely scientific, assuring herself that he would be fine, but just needed a little repair work. Nevermind how he was attacked. Nevermind his worsening conditioned. Here and now. She could deal with this. As always. “You’ve never been able to lie to save your life,” she murmured, a minuscule smirk on her lips which she kept hidden.

Matt sighed and nodded. “Not to you anyways…always were smarter than me” Matt chuckled. He looked down at her as she looked over his wounds and wore an adoring smile. “God you are flawless…” He thought aloud.

Matt placed a calming hand on her shin and rubbed it softly. “I’m sorry. I did not mean to insinuate such a thing…I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t in danger of breaking a heart”

Evelyn tensed briefly, but slowly relaxed at his touch. “Mmm.. Ah ya insinuatin’ that you’d steal me away, o’ that you’d get ya own he’aht b’wahoken?” She grinned, taking a bite out of her pancakes after drowning them in syrup. 

“I wouldn’t want to cause some poor schmuck some heartache if I somehow steal your heart” Matt mused with a smile and started to eat slowly, never stopping his hand on her leg.

She closed her eyes, shivering from his touch. The longer he was touching her, the harder time she had focusing on her food. “Mmm.. Well.. I’m not gonna say that ya won’t steal it, honestly. Jus’ wanna know why you’d want to steal it.” 

“You…I never really did forget you, Evelyn. You’ve been more than nice to me and well…maybe I like you” He told her as he ate.

Evelyn couldn’t help the red tint that surfaced on her cheeks. Quickly pulling her leg away, she leaned over, kissing him briefly. “Ya don’t mean that. Sh.. Ya can’t..” She sighed, taking a few small bites from her food, returning her leg back beside him.

I’ll talk to Logan about it. Maybe he can pull something or we’ll talk about having Jack transfer to a local high school. Maybe its what he needs. If need be we’ll send them both there. Maybe it will be good for them.

Alright…I just want them to be happy. [sees the restaurant and smiles at Matt] Hm, it’s been a while since we’ve had a proper date night. [laughs lightly]

Matt chuckled and smiled. “Well unfortunately that name brings up some missions I’m sure you’d love to forget but you are the better dancer between us, but thank you” He told her warmly. Matt brought her in close and slowly lowered his lips on her’s.

“Yes, if it were possible I would forget a good part of them.” She smiled, lowering her gaze. Natasha kissed him, caressing Matt’s face.

Matt smiled and pecked her nose sweetly before looking into her eyes again. “I’ve missed that…” He told her with a smile. “May I have another?”

“You don’t need to ask.” Natasha captured his lips again. Matt tasted like champagne and something she didn’t know exactly what it was, but loved. The redhead gave a slight bite on his lower lip, teasing. “Like this?”

“Now ou are just teasing. If you keep this up, I’ll find an empty room and just take you anyway” He whispered in her ear.

“Shh.” She chuckled. “In a couple hours we’ll be at home. But now, calm down.”

“I can if you done’t tease me, love” He laughed with a wide grin.

I hope so…I just want my little boy to be ok. [kisses her cheek] He’s our son. He’ll be amazing.

I hope so. But even if he wants to be normal, is that a bad thing? I mean, we did want a normal life for them, but as soon as we found out they had the X-gene we enrolled them at the school. [looks up at Matt with saddened eyes] Maybe we should rethink their schooling. Or…at least for Jack. But I don’t like the idea of those two being separated.

I’ll talk to Logan about it. Maybe he can pull something or we’ll talk about having Jack transfer to a local high school. Maybe its what he needs. If need be we’ll send them both there. Maybe it will be good for them.
